Active Colloidal Miscelles – What Are They?
Miscelles are created as a result of a process in which extracts of natural plants are blended together at specific time intervals, temperatures and sequences. The plants used can be soy, corn, grain, potatoes, trees etc. The extracts, after treatment, lose their original characteristics and small particles are produced. In fact, miscelles are so small that they can only be seen by using a powerful electron microscope. They are so small that 3 million can fit on the end of a pin.
Miscelles are essential in nature. For example, the human body utilizes miscelles for absorption of fat soluble vitamin and complex lipids.
They are unique because they are attracted to water and repelled at the same time.
How Do They Work As A Cleaner?
The microscopic size of the miscelles enables it to penetrate and break up dirt and dust into millions of smaller particles. They are electrically charged and wizz about acting like microscopic air hammers, further chipping away at the dirt.
Hydrocarbons, like oil and grease that hold the majority of dirt together, do not like water. These small hydrocarbon particles are attracted to the parts of the miscelle that also do not like water but cannot get away because they are being repelled by the miscelle part that likes water.
The important thing is, that when the particles attach themselves to the miscelle, it is held in suspension, preventing re-soiling and allowing it to be permanently dissolved in water.
Most cleaning products contain surfactants and emulsifiers which may do a good job of lifting the fats/oil/grease off the surface but leaves the hazardous hydrocarbons intact to run off and continue to contaminate.
Colloidal cleaners, because of the quick degradation of organic waste will also significantly reduce offensive odor caused by the naturally slow process of decay. This in turn, reduces the population of disease carrying organisms.
Biodegradability
Because the miscelles are so small the surface area is huge relative to their volume. This large area readily accepts oxygen and promotes the reduction and decomposition process. These colloidal particles also absorb ultraviolet light and ozone to produce pollution removing properties. The luminous properties of colloidal particles further stimulates the process. All these unique and complex properties promotes biodegradability, making it environmentally safe and inert, thus returning it back to the natural state
